In Spokane and the surrounding Inland Northwest, garage flooring takes a beating from all four seasons: snow, rain, summer heat, and everything in between.
At Garage Floor Coating Inland NW, we’ve seen what happens when floor coatings are rushed. That’s why we take the time to do it right, because performance isn’t about branding, it’s about process.
The 2-Day Difference: Why Our Floor Coatings Last
Our 2-day installation system is built to handle Inland NW’s moisture, freeze-thaw cycles, and UV exposure:
Day One:
- We diamond grind the concrete using high-end diamond grinders to ready the concrete for the first (primer) coat.
- Then we apply a slow-curing, 100%-solids, moisture-mitigating epoxy primer that acts as a thick moisture vapor barrier, protecting your coating from future moisture infiltration…essential in this climate.
- While the primer coat is still wet, we broadcast your chosen flake blend into the primer coat to full coverage.
Day Two:
- We allow for curing overnight to enable deep concrete penetration and strong bonding of the moisture-mitigating epoxy primer
- We then apply two coats (not just one!) of our 100%-solids polyaspartic topcoat, which resist UV, salt, hot tires, and chemical spills.
The result is a garage floor coating that’s built to last decades, and we back it with a lifetime warranty against delamination, even from moisture vapor.
Where 1-Day Systems Break Down Fast
Many quick-install coatings skip critical steps. These “1-day” coating systems use a polyurea or polyaspartic direct-to-concrete (as the primer coat). They are simply not spec’d for this. They go down thinly and cure so quickly, especially in the presence of moisture or humidity, that they fail to deeply penetrate and bond with the concrete slab. In addition, they only apply a single (less-than-100%-solids) polyaspartic top coat. These thin, poorly-penetrating systems:
- Have no moisture vapor barrier
- Have a single thin topcoat (that poorly resists hot-tire transfer)
- Have “sleight-of-hand” warranties that fail to warranty “moisture-related issues (the number one reason for coating failures)
In the Inland Northwest, this leads to peeling, staining, and coating failure within a few short years.
